In this holy journey to India, you will follow all the places where the feet of Lord Gautama Buddha were lying. In this holy journey, you will visit Lumbini which is the birthplace of Buddha, besides Kushinagar where Lord Buddha died. You will also visit Bodh Gaya where Mercury attained supreme knowledge and also visit the Sarnath temple where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Tour Details

Day 01: Arrive New Delhi

Today you will arrive at Delhi International Airport. The full stop will be welcomed on your arrival and the necessary possible help will be provided and after that, you will be transferred to your hotel in Delhi. If you have some time left, then spend it wandering around the traditional markets.

Day 02: Delhi

Today you will visit the major sightseeing places in Delhi. In the morning tour, you will visit Jama Masjid with a panoramic view of the Red Fort. Jama Masjid is a very beautiful ancient structure made of marble and red sandstone with beautiful carvings inside it. After this, you will go to the traditional market like Chandni Chowk and see the glare of the crowded streets there. You will also visit Rajghat located in Old Delhi where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Afternoon you will visit the sights of New Delhi such as Qutub Minar, Humayun Tom, etc. and also see India Gate, Parliament House, and other ancient British era buildings.

Day 03: Delhi - Patna by Flight

This morning you will be transferred to Delhi Airport from where you will fly to Patna. Patna is an ancient city whose ancient name was Pataliputra and it used to be the capital of the Maurya Empire. Here you will have Buddha Stupa, Ashoka Pillar, and half-day sightseeing places of Bawan Pokhar Temple.

Day 04: Patna - Nalanda - Rajgir - Bodhgaya by surface (200 kms/5 hrs)

Today you will travel from Patna to Bodhgaya and stop for sightseeing of Nalanda and Rajgir on the way. Nalanda is the ruins of ancient universities that once used to be a rich university of Buddhism in the 6th century BCE. Archaeological sites have unearthed 8 monasteries and several Buddhist temples here. After this, you will visit the word Karni caves in Rajgir. This place is an important pilgrimage site for the followers of the three religions Hinduism Buddhism and Jainism. Later you will reach Bodhgaya and be transferred to the hotel. Bodhgaya is a sacred pilgrimage site in Buddhism where Lord Gautama Buddha attained supreme knowledge.

Day 05: Bodhgaya

Today you will go sightseeing in Bodh Gaya. Here you will visit holy sites like Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhi Tree, Shaiva Math, and the famous Jagarnath Temple. The Mahabodhi Temple is a thin pyramid-shaped temple with numerous Buddhist style carvings. The Bodhi tree located here is the tree under which Lord Buddha attained supreme knowledge. Under this tree is a stone platform called Vajrasana, on which Lord Buddha used to meditate under the Bodhi tree.

Day 06: Bodhgaya - Varanasi by surface (256 kms/6 hrs)

Today you will depart from Bodh Gaya for Varanasi. Varanasi is an ancient and holy city which is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Hinduism. There are many Hindu temples on the banks of river Ganges. The city of Varanasi is also known as Kashi.

Day 07: Varanasi - Sarnath - Varanasi

Today morning you will go for a boat ride in the Ganges river in the morning. In the morning at the ghats of the river Ganges, you will see many people performing holy baths and religious rituals. You will also visit many temples situated on the banks of the river here. Later you will go for sightseeing of Sarnath situated 7 miles from Varanasi. Sarnath is the place where Deer used to preach his peace in the park and here he installed the wheel of law. Here you will also visit the Ashoka Pillar and after that, you will visit the Sarnath Museum, which is a religious museum of many items related to Buddhism.

Day 08: Varanasi - Kushinagar by surface (275 kms/7 hrs)

Today you will reach Kushinagar passing through many rural routes, which is located in the southern part of Nepal. Kushinagar is the holy place where Lord Buddha gave up his body. There is another holy place near Kushinagar called Rambhar where the last rites of Lord Buddha were performed. This is also a place associated with Mahavir Tirthankara, the first guru of Jainism. Here you will see the Nirvana temple and Rambhar Stupa. The Nirvana temple was built by Kumaragupta I during his reign from 1413 to 1455 AD. There is also a huge statue of Lord Buddha here. There are many Buddhist stupas around this area.

Day 09: Kushinagar - Lumbini by surface (180 kms/4 Hrs)

Today you will visit a Buddhist pilgrimage site called Lumbini in Nepal, where Lord Buddha was born. It has some of the most revered Buddhist monasteries in the world and the most important place here is the Maya Devi Temple. The construction of the Maya Devi Temple is dedicated to Maya Devi, the mother of Lord Gautama Buddha. This temple was discovered by the archaeologist of Germany in 1895.

Day 10: Lumbini - Kathmandu by surface (250 kms/6 hrs)

This morning you will travel to Kathmandu, passing through many rural areas. Poornaviram This beautiful ancient city is surrounded by high snow-clad peaks from all sides. The Kathmandu Valley is filled with many temples, palaces, and squares. There are many old attractive markets and many idol sculptures are also located here. The Pashupatinath temple of Lord Shiva and the abode of Gautam Budh are also located here.

Day 11: Kathmandu

Today is the day dedicated to the famous sightseeing of Kathmandu. Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal country at an altitude of 4550 feet above sea level and is a beautiful valley surrounded by high mountains from all sides. Today you will go to Hanuman Dhok where you will see the Traditional Sheet of Royalty. After this, you will visit Pashupatinath Temple, which is a beautiful temple built in pagoda style. Here you will also see the Kasthamandap which is an interesting and attractive temple made of wood. Here you will also see Bodhnath and Asan Tole and will also visit the typical Nepali traditional market here.

Day 12: Kathmandu

This morning you will visit Patan which is a beautiful city of arts located near the Bagmati river. There are many Hindu temples and many temples located in this city, where a huge store of medieval art and architecture is located. Various types of carvings have been done in the structures here. The artisans of this city also carve metal artifacts on them by sculpting them on wood. Afternoon you will visit Bhatgaon where local artisans build statues and huge pagoda structures.

Day 13: Kathmandu - Onward Destination by Flight

The tour of the holy places where the feet of Lord Buddha lay, ends today. After breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to Kathmandu International Airport. From here you will be able to fly to your next destination.
